After 30 years of designing boats it is gratifying to see the large
number of builders who come back to us for plans to build their
second or third Bruce Roberts boat. With thousands of boats built
to his designs, Bruce Roberts has accumulated a great amount of
practical knowledge. All these things and his lifetime of experience
has assembled in designs and books to benefit those who are in search
              of their ideal boat.

               Centennial Spray 36

As there are over 1,000 Bruce Roberts’ SPRAYS being built
worldwide, we have been willing to listen to every combination of
ideas about this wonderful boat and several layouts have been
drawn with many features interchangeable between the versions.

The Centennial Spray 36 is designed to be built in Round bilge Steel
or either all Strip planking or using a combination of strip plank
covered with one or more layers of veneer.Custom sail plans and
accommodation layouts may be drawn to suit your requirements.
Most of the layouts and sail plans used for the regular Spray 36
may also be used with this design.

               THE ROBERTS 39

This design is available only in multi-chine hull form, rigged as
a sloop, but we recently designed a companion radius chine
              Roberts 392 with similar layouts.

The Roberts 39 offers luxury cruising for a couple at a reasonable
cost, and can be built with either a short keel giving 5' 9" draft or
              a long keel with 5' 3" draft.

               ROBERTS 64

This design was originally based on the very successful Roberts 53
and is assured of acceptance by those builders who require a larger
boat either for charter work or for extended cruising with a large
party of guests. To date over 200 of these boats have been completed
              in Steel and Fiberglass.

"Wandering Star" was built in Canada by a person who had
previously built a Roberts 53, he writes "We cruised at 10 knots +
and first I thought the Sumlog was out but on checking against
shore sights I discovered that the Sumlog was actually a 10th knot
SLOW. I have a very fast boat, even faster than my Roberts 53...
congratulations to you as the designer.

Several layouts are given including a small pilot house option, and
it can be rigged as either ketch or cutter .

Build in either MULTI CHINE or RADIUS CHINE
STEEL/ALUMINUM or FIBERGLASS - materials lists are included
with the SUPER STUDY PLAN PACKAGE which also shows
              the layouts to scale.

               Radius Chine Steel
              ALUMINIUM & Copper-Nickel

It is possible to build a round bilge steel or aluminium hull without
the great time and effort, not to mention specialized experience,
required using traditional steel outbuilding methods. There are several
reasons for building a radius chine hull. Your boat will enjoy all
of the benefits of a round bilge hull including superior appearance,
strength, lighter weight and much higher resale value; all of this while
maintaining the advantages of steel or aluminium construction.

               Frameless Powerboats

The webs in frameless powerboats can have lightening holes as
shown and these are useful for leading cables and plumbing etc.,
throughout the hull. Note the stringers, chine flat and other items
that go to providing sufficient strength to allow the transverse
frames to be omitted in this hull.
